My inspiration...

The second you feel like giving up, remember all the reasons that made you fight for so long.

When I have tough days - and lets face it; we all do - I force myself to appreciate everything I have to give thanks for. For example:

So often we take for granted our loved ones, the food on our table, the income we receive, or even something as simple as the sun. Try to appreciate the air we breath, the majestic beauty that nature delivers to us on a daily basis, or even the gift of another day  - for that in itself is a blessing from the Lord.

Don't be afraid to go out and try to make every day count. Appreciate every moment and take from it everything that you possibly can. Why? Because you may never be able to experience it again.

Just be happy. There is so much out there to be thankful for!

I'll leave you with a picture I love:

Do not be afraid, for I am with you ... Isaiah 43:5

These words bring me comfort wherever I am in life. Fear generally arises when we think we are left to face impossible situations on our own. To any like this, these words are most reassuring. This is more than the Lord coming to our aid; it is having Him with us. Like when Jesus asleep in the boat, we need to realise that when He is with us we should have no fear. Don't look at the storm that rages around you, call to mind the Lord's promise. Don't dwell on the failures others have experienced, see the victory there is for you in Christ. Fear is unseen but very real: so is the comfort and assurance to be had by those whose trust is in the Lord's promise to be with us.

The gift of faith...

I have a confession to make. I'm hooked on God. Here's how it happened...

I once added a random guy on Facebook because he made a funny joke on my friends' status. We started talking. I pretty much risked my life and agreed to meet with him. We proceeded to get to know each other and eventually became a couple. He then introduced me to his band. Unfortunately I lost contact with them after the relationship ended. However, One day when I was at my lowest one of the band members came back into my life, bringing with him a long lost friend of mine, the Lord almighty God. I couldn't possibly be more grateful.

These days I go to church every Sunday and attend a mid-week Bible study to bring me closer to the Lord. I can't begin to explain how amazing it is being in touch with God. When I walked out of church this morning I felt so empowered. I allowed myself to feel His blessing on me and it was amazing. As my favourite hymn states;

And if our God is for us, then who could ever stop us.
And if our God is with us, then what could stand against.

How true is that! God is forever by our side guiding us though life's challenges. So long as we believe in God we are unstoppable. The hand of God provides followers with the satisfaction of desires (Psalm 145:16). You are surrounded with God's love, protection, guidance and support. What more could you need in life?!

Entering into the world of blogging...

Today it's a miserable day on my side of the world so what better to do than to start a blog? I've been wanting to do so for a while but due to Uni and work commitments I have never really had the chance.

Here's a little bit about me:
  • I study a double degree of Psychology and Business with a major in Human resources. When I graduate I will be qualified in the area of organisational behaviour.
  • I currently working between a cute little Italian restaurant - for which I am the second in charge - and a Leagues Club. This really just gives me something to do until I can track down some sort of graduate position.
  • I'm proud to be a devoted Christian.
  • I treasure my family. Unfortunately I lost my beautiful mother to cancer earlier this year. I have a little brother that I love dearly and you can thank my father for my competitive attitude and work ethic. Without them I would be lost.
  • I love my car (Mazda 3 Sports).

Anyway I don't have a lot to say just yet so I'll leave you be. I hope you have an amazing day :)
